UK: Reward offered in sex gang case - Black South African migrant pack rapists on the loose   Detectives investigating a series of rapes in Northampton have issued a reward for information leading to the arrest of the sex attackers. Over the last two weeks there have been three rapes and two attempted abductions which Northamptonshire Police believe could be linked. The attacks have led police to warn women and girls not to go out alone in the town after dark. The offenders are described as black, in their 20s, with very dark skin, about 6ft tall and spoke with South African accents. The latest victim, a 30-year-old woman, was found with head injuries early on Monday morning. She had been hit on the head before being raped. On 1 August attempts were made to abduct a 15-year-old in the early hours of the morning. Less than an hour later an 18-year-old was forced into a car, driven to Duston and raped. | UK cops hunting black migrant South African rape gang Residents of an English city are living in fear after a group of men, suspected to be from South Africa, overpowered three women in the street, abducted and raped them. Three of them were kidnapped in two different cars - a BMW and a Fiat Punto - and each was raped by three men. A 15-year-old girl and another woman managed to escape and called police. According to police statements, the women said the suspects spoke to each other in "heavy South African accents". A preliminary investigation apparently indicated they were South African citizens. | Darkest Africa: 'Barbaric' attackers gouge out victim's eyes Two KwaMashu criminals used the most callous way of hiding their identity - by gouging out the eyes of their victim. Horrified doctors and nurses treating 19-year-old Bongani Mngonyama have described his attackers as barbaric, while residents of KwaMashu Section A, where he was attacked, are deeply shocked. Doctors said that Mngonyama's eyes were removed in such a way that there was nothing they could do to mend them. The only thing could do was to clean the holes where the eyes were gouged out. - (African Crusader) |

| 'No white farmers' in Zimbabwe ZIMBABWE has ruled out any plans to lure back white commercial farmers whose land was seized during the country's land reforms that started in 2000."We are not inviting any white farmers back, never," Lands, Land Reform and Resettlement Minister Didymus Mutasa told the state-controlled Sunday Mail."The land here is for the black people and we are not giving it back to anybody. Why did we repossess that land in the first place," said Mutasa, who is also state security minister. |
| Darkest Africa: Zululand: Man allegedly 'roasts flesh' of niece A suspected cannibal who allegedly murdered his niece and then roasted and ate her right thigh is expected to appear in the Harding Magistrate's Court in southern KwaZulu-Natal. The man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly killed his sister's three-year-old daughter and attempted to kill her other children." After investigation by detectives it was established that the suspect could have eaten the flesh of the child as he was carrying a bag of salt with him and blood stains were found in the salt. African offered to pay 20 head of beef cattle and 40 goats to the Clintons for their daughter Chelsea   Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor says he has some social business with Clinton that started in 2000, but of which the former American President has no clue. He seeks the former president’s only child’s hand in marriage. In 2000 when Chelsea, her father and mother, now Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton, visited East Africa, Chepkurgor, then at Moi University, tried to make his intention clear. He wrote to Clinton, offering himself as a suitor for Chelsea.

Darkest Africa: South Africa, Cape Town - Cops ask for help in finding baby killers  Police have remained tight-lipped after the murder of a six-month-old baby in Rondebosch East two days ago. On Thursday they released an identikit of one of the four intruders responsible for the murder that has shocked the community. Jordan-Leigh Norton was stabbed when four intruders gained entry to her Scout Road home, held up her nanny and uncle and ransacked the house of valuables. Mandela son-in-law seeking to resolve rape charge in Connecticut The son-in-law of former South African president Nelson Mandela, who left Connecticut 12-years ago while facing rape charges, is trying to resolve that case, his attorney said Friday. Isaac Amuah, a former professor at Manchester Community Technical College, was accused of sexually assaulting a 34-year-old student from his algebra class inside Amuah's Manchester apartment. Amuah was charged with first-degree sexual assault and unlawful restraint. He was given permission to travel to South Africa for the holidays in 1993 and never returned. - (crime) |
Darkest Africa: South Africa, Cape Town - Robbers cold-bloodedly stabbed and killed a six-month-old baby girl  Cape Town - Robbers cold-bloodedly stabbed and killed a six-month-old baby girl in Lansdowne on Wednesday after wrenching the crying child out of a domestic worker's grasp. Jordan Leigh Norton was her mother's first-born child Jordan's mother, Natasha Norton, and the baby's grandparents, Vernon and Anastasia Norton, were not at home at the time of the robbery. Grief-stricken Vernon Norton said four men apparently had burst into the house after pretending they had to deliver a parcel. - (African Crusader) |
South Africa: Zululand: a cat was microwaved to death in a university residence Durban - Tempers flared at the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Pinetown campus when Inspector Roland Fivaz of the Kloof SPCA wanted to question four individuals labelled as the prime suspects in a case in which a cat was microwaved to death in a university residence. The girls have had to wear large woollen tassels as a sign of their chastity since 2001. These are to be burnt in a huge ceremony on Tuesday. The sex ban was imposed to fight the spread of HIV/Aids. Swaziland has one of the world's highest HIV infection rates, at about 40% of the population. The king fined himself a cow for breaking the ban by marrying again. He took a 17-year-old girl as his ninth wife just two months after imposing the sex-ban in September 2001, sparking unprecedented protests by Swazi women outside the royal palace.
