Racist "Black Panther" Reed convicted of killing a police officer nearly 36 years ago - "The wheels of justice grind slowly"
A jury convicted Ronald Reed on Wednesday in the shooting death of St. Paul police officer James Sackett nearly 36 years ago, and the judge sentenced him to life in prison. The jury found Reed, 55, of Chicago, guilty on both counts, first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Prosecutor Susan Hudson told jurors during her closing argument that Reed set up the "cold-blooded assassination" of Sackett, who was shot while answering a fake call about a pregnant woman in labor May 22, 1970. Prosecutors alleged that Reed and co-defendant Larry Clark, who are black, wanted to impress the national leadership of the Black Panthers by killing a white police officer. At the time, they were involved in a local group of young militants and wanted to establish a chapter of the Black Panthers here, prosecutors said. - (crime)

ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A judge has ruled that a former prison guard convicted of killing 13 people in a 1982 shooting rampage can't be executed because he is mentally ill. The U.S. Supreme Court held in 1986 that it is unconstitutional to execute the insane. Banks picked up his AR-15 semiautomatic rifle on September 25, 1982, and began shooting. He killed seven children -- five of them his own, along with his three live-in girlfriends, an ex-girlfriend, her mother and a bystander in the street.
Death-row inmate George Emil Banks thinks he's been pardoned by God and is no longer facing execution. He believes that his lawyers, psychiatrists and prison staff are joined in a wide-ranging conspiracy to get him to renounce God. He thinks that his itchy body rash was the work of flesh-eating demons. And he has blamed his continued incarceration on the "Islamic government of the United States." The testimony painted a grim portrait of Banks as a psychotic and delusional prisoner whose mental state has deteriorated since his 1983 trial for the shooting rampage that left 13 people dead, including five of his children, in and around Wilkes-Barre in Luzerne County.

Living in a predominately white neighborhood and being involved in a series of interracial relationships
brought its own share of problems. Banks claimed that his white neighbors “intimidated the women and called the children African niggers.”

Lacking explanation or any apparent compassion, he raised the weapon and shot Regina Clemens. The bullet pierced her right cheek, sliced downward and traveled directly through her heart, killing her instantly. Her body pitched sideways in a lifeless sprawl.

The AR-15 fell abruptly silent as George stood amidst the carnage he had inflicted upon his family. Spent cartridges littered the floor and the smell of gunpowder and death permeated the air. Keith watched in horror through the partly opened closet door as seven-year-old Scott Mazzillo ran into the room and screamed.  When Scott saw the horrible scene in the bedroom, he ran down the hall.  George grabbed him, kicked him to the ground and punched him repeatedly in the back.  When he stopped struggling, George pulled the sobbing boy up by the shoulder, placed the barrel just behind the left ear and fired.  George removed his hand and allowed the lifeless child to fall on the floor.  Satisfied that he had left no survivors, George stood up, walked out the front door and yelled, “I killed them all!” before fleeing the scene.

Suspected Fugitive Mexican Killer of LA Deputy Arrested by Mexican Police
LOS ANGELES - A fugitive captured by Mexican police in the 2002 slaying of a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy will likely be extradited in the next two months, and prosecutors plan to seek a life sentence, the district attorney said Friday. Mexican authorities arrested Jorge Arroyo Garcia Thursday. Arroyo Garcia, a Mexican national who also goes by the first name Armando, is the lead suspect in the shooting death of Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy David March, 33, during a traffic stop in Irwindale, Calif., in April 2002.  Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley said in an interview  that prosecutors want to seek the death penalty. From what I understand, he has been pretty much a despicable piece of society from youth. From what I know, he had been deported on three different occasions, different charges. He had weapon charges — he had a weapon; selling drugs — he's a methamphetamine dealer; and just six months before Dave was shot, he was wanted in connection (with) two different, unrelated attempts of murder.

San Quentin: Michael Morales convicted of raping and murdering a 17-year-old girl - execution delayed
The planned execution of Michael Angelo Morales convicted of raping and murdering a 17-year-old girl was delayed until Tuesday night after two squeamish anesthesiologists refused to participate because of "ethical" concerns. Morales has admitted to the crime that put him on death row. In a petition for clemency that Schwarzenegger first turned down on Friday, Morales claimed that he killed Terri Winchell 25 years ago because he was high on PCP and alcohol. - (crime)

Jury Deliberating Fate Of Anthony Sanchez convicted of murder, rape and sodomy of University of Oklahoma ballerina
A jury in Oklahoma is now deliberating whether the killer of a University of Oklahoma ballerina will be executed or sentenced to life in prison. The jury convicted Anthony C. Sanchez earlier this week of first-degree rape, sodomy and murder of Jewell “Juli” Busken of Benton.  The nine-woman, three man jury has already recommended 40 years in prison on each of the rape and sodomy counts. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the murder conviction.

12. When stopped at a stop light, always have your car doors locked. Dark people will use this opportunity to jump in your car. Anticipate how close you will be to Negroes or Mexicans at a stop light, and stop just short of that (so you don't have them staring at you for 5 minutes).
