Arrest Made In Kidnapping, Rape Of 57-Year-Old Woman * Naked woman jumps from moving vehicle to escape kidnapper HOUSTON -- A man has been arrested and charged with abducting a woman from her home and driving her to a motel to rape her, The 57-year-old woman was abducted from her home on New Year's Day as she worked in her garage. Investigators said the rapist confronted the woman with a knife and forced her into her car and drove the woman to a motel where he bought cocaine with her money. The rapist then sexually assaulted the woman at a remote location. The woman managed to escape her attacker after she was raped at the motel by jumping out of the car and running to the Harvest Time Church to get help. Deputies arrested Charles Anderson, 47, Sunday in the victim's stolen car after receiving an anonymous tip. - (NNN Newsroom) - (crime) |
Days Before His Release From Prison, Suspect Charged With 1992 Rapes LC Jackson is accused of raping a woman and her 9-year-old daughter in 1992.DENVER -- Just days before he would have been paroled from prison, a man was charged with the 1992 rape of a woman and her young daughter. LC Jackson, 39, was charged with four counts of sexual assault, sexual assault on a child and second-degree kidnapping, along with a sentence-enhancing count of crime of violence. The charges allege that Jackson broke into the victims' home in August 1992 and sexually assaulted a 42-year-old woman and her 9-year-old daughter. Detectives were unable to identify a suspect at the time. However, the case was recently reviewed as part of Denver's DNA Cold Case Project and Jackson was identified as a suspect through a DNA match. - (Freebird) - (crime) |
Prison official stabbed by convicted kidnap-rape murderer of young girl Mo. -- A high-ranking official at the Potosi Correctional Center was hospitalized after being stabbed by a convicted murderer. The suspect is Roderick Nunley, who is on death row for a conviction out of Jackson County for first-degree murder, rape, kidnapping and armed criminal action. Nunley was convicted of killing 15-year-old Ann Harrison in 1989. Harrison was kidnapped from in front of her Kansas City home as she waited for the school bus, leaving her books and band instrument behind. Black boyfriend charged in double murder of White ex-girlfriend and her Great-grandmother * Boyfriend Arrested    Brandon Foster was accused of stabbing a former girlfriend to death, beating her great-grandmother to death, and setting their row house on fire to cover the crime The bodies of Samantha Zenszer, 21, and Violet McCall, 79, were found Tuesday when firefighters responded to the fire at their home. Foster had formerly "dated" Zenszer. Police said when Zenszer broke up with Foster, he didn't take it very well, and he allegedly stabbed her to death. Police Chief Rodney Monroe said Ray Joseph Dandridge and Ricky Gavon Gray, both 28, were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and auto theft after they were arrested driving a Cadillac that belonged to one of the victims.
The bodies of Percyell Tucker, 55; Mary Baskerville, 47; and her daughter, Ashley Baskerville, 21, were found Friday bound with duct tape in their ransacked Richmond home. Black man charged in DePaul campus rape of sleeping co-ed  Prosecutors say they have charged a man in connection with last week's sexual assault and robbery of a 20-year-old DePaul University student inside her campus apartment. Police say surveillance video played a big role in their investigation. Michael Bradley apparently has friends at DePaul. He allegedly broke into the apartment last week while the 20-year-old victim was asleep. After sexually assaulting and robbing a 20-year-old student early on Friday morning, the man allegedly used her ATM And credit cards at a fast food restaurant and several teller machines within an hour or so of leaving the scene. - (-88-) - (crime) |
MLK nephew sets fire to his own apartment * Luther King nephew set to face arson rap * King as a suspect in a hit-and-run  A nephew of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr is expected to face arson charges for allegedly setting fire to his apartment in what police called an apparent suicide attempt. Derek King, 46, sought mental health counselling after last Tuesday's blaze, said Bob Bowser, deputy chief of the Lawrence Police Department.
Bowser said King endangered the lives of himself and others when he allegedly set the fire in his apartment, and then refused to leave when rescuers arrived. Arson investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
San Antonio: Black Man Charged With First Murder Of 2006 - Robbed then killed Hispanic  A 21-year-old man was charged Friday in connection with the first murder of the new year. Ronald Lee Wilson was charged with capital murder. According to police, Wilson robbed and shot Amos Gutierrez, 24, on Jan. 1. The victim's body was found lying in a field in the 500 block of K St. Wilson is already in the Bexar County Jail on unrelated offenses.

N.C. -- More than eight years ago, a black named Abner Nicholson gunned down the White police chief of Sharpsburg   Since then, a picture of Abner Nicholson hung in the police department -- until now. The sister of the slain lawman says taking down Nicholson's picture is an insult to her brother's memory. "They've not forgotten my brother, which makes me feel good," said Chief Willard Wayne Hathaway's sister, Monica Worsham. "But I don't want them to forget who took him from us" Worsham is livid that town officials removed the picture of the man who killed her brother in 1997. The snapshot of Nicholson had been posted on the bulletin board in the police station lobby with the captions "don't ever forget this face" and "dead man walking." Registered Sex Offender Charged With Brutal Assault - poured boiling water from a tea kettle over the victim's genitals CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A registered sex offender has been charged with the brutal sexual assault of a woman who was at his home to take care of him William Johnson, 55, attacked his caregiver at his home. The victim said the assault happened several weeks ago, but she was too scared to come forward until now. Neighbors said they only knew Johnson as "the nice old man". According to the police search warrant, Johnson forced his caregiver into his home, tied her up and brutally sexually assaulted a woman. Man's face comes back to haunt victim of rape When she closed her eyes and thought back to that November morning eight years ago, all she could see was her rapist's blood-shot eyes looking down at her.
And as the former University of Florida student, who was raped in 1997, scanned through the mugs of a photo lineup, one face besieged her.
"When I looked at each image in the photo array, I had this sick feeling in my stomach when my eyes landed on his face,"
The face that haunted her belonged to Leo Price Jr., a 52-year-old Gainesville man who was arrested Tuesday on charges of sexual battery, attempted murder and armed burglary.
Price was linked to the rape after investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement matched his DNA obtained after an unrelated drug arrest to the 1997 rape. - (-88-) - (crime) |
