Toronto police are seeking a male suspect who offered a “blessing” to a woman before allegedly sexually assaulting her inside her north-end apartment. Police said the incident happened at a building in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area before 5 p.m. on May 23. A 37-year-old woman was in the elevator when a man entered from the ground floor. The man and woman engaged in a conversation, when the man reportedly said the woman needed a “blessing”. Police said the man followed the woman to her apartment and advised she “needed to be cleansed of her ex-husband.” The man is accused of sexually assaulting the woman inside her apartment. He’s described by police as about six feet tall with a long, brown beard, long, brown side curls, and glasses. He speaks both Hebrew and English. At the time, the man was wearing black shoes, black pants, a long black trench/dress coat with a white-collared shirt underneath, and a large brimmed hat. TORONTO - A woman accused of killing her 17-year-old stepdaughter more than two decades ago was found guilty of second-degree murder on Monday after a trial which heard graphic evidence of the physical and emotional abuse suffered by the girl. Elaine Biddersingh, who had been charged with first-degree murder, had pleaded not guilty in the death of Melonie Biddersingh, whose charred, malnourished body was found in a burning suitcase in an industrial parking lot north of Toronto in 1994. The teen's body went unidentified for years until 2011, when her stepmother told an Ontario pastor the girl had "died like a dog" after being confined and denied food and medication. - (Canada)

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a warrant obtained for the arrest of a man wanted in a Fraud investigation. On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, officers became aware of, and started an investigation into, frauds allegedly committed at various Money Mart locations across the city. A Toronto doctor has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman during a physical examination. According to police, the incident happened on June 4 at a doctor’s office near Pape and Danforth avenues. The victim is a 34-year-old woman. On Tuesday, 53-year-old Francis Li was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault. Police believe there may be other victims.   The hate crimes unit of the Toronto Police is investigating a complaint against a Beach newspaper that some residents charge is anti-Semitic. Constable Kiran Bisla confirmed Wednesday that her unit is reviewing a complaint about the most recent edition Your Ward News, the cover of which featured caricatures of Jewish men. Toronto: (Hispanic) Man charged with homosexually assaulting 3-year-old boy in park
A Toronto man is facing two sex charges after being accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old boy in a neighbourhood park, then trying to buy the mother’s silence. According to a release, the boy and his mother were walking in a park near Queen St W. and Lansdowne Ave. May 28 when a man approached the boy and began talking to him. Police say the man then sexually assaulted the child, and tried to pay the mother to not report anything when she confronted him. The suspect was arrested the same day. Police believe there may be other victims, and ask anyone with information to contact the TPS’s Child and Youth Advocacy centre or Crime Stoppers. Cesar Diaz, 52, faces one count each of sexual assault and sexual interference. Diaz appeared in court at Old City Hall Wednesday morning. - (Canada)

Former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi has signed a legal document called a "peace bond" and apologized to a woman accusing him of sexual assault, leading a Canadian court to withdraw the charge against him. These were the last criminal charges he faced following a high-profile series of assault accusations, CBC reports. In this more recent case, a former colleague of Ghomeshi at CBC named Kathryn Borel accused him of repeatedly harassing her in the workplace. She pressed charges in 2014.
