Juwan Deering Arrested for Setting Fire that Caused 5 Children to be burned alive  Friday, a man was charged with murder after he was accused of setting fire to a Royal Oak Township home in 2000, killing 5 children under the age of 12. Juwan Deering was arrested outside a friend’s home in Detroit. He was then charged with arson and 5 counts of felony murder.
Investigators believe Deering set the home on fire because of a drug debt involving the father of 4 of the children, who didn’t even live in the home. The father has since died. Juwan Deering has a criminal history involving drugs and has been in and out of jail. Deering was charged in the deaths of Taleigha Dean, 10; Craig Dean, 8; Aaron Dean, 7; Eugene Dean, who celebrated his sixth birthday hours before he and several of his siblings were killed in the blaze and Michelle Frame, 11, the family's cousin.

Bond Denied To Abdool Charged With Burning His Girlfriend To Death Fla. -- Emotional relatives of a 17-year-old teen are shocked and saddened after learning of her murder. The man accused of dousing her with gasoline and lighting her on fire made his first court appearance. Amelia Sookdeo's burned body was found off a County Road on Saturday. Thursday night, police arrested 19-year-old Dane Abdool and charged him with first-degree murder. He then confessed to the crime." Police said Abdool told them the couple got into an argument after Amelia told him she was pregnant with his child. He admitted stopping at a 7-Eleven to buy duct tape and gasoline, before driving to a remote stretch of CR-545, tying Amelia up and setting her on fire. Woman burned during sexual assault dies A 22-year-old Fort Dodge woman who was sexually assaulted and then critically burned when her house was set on fire has died, a hospital spokesman said Friday.
The woman, who had been hospitalized at University Hospitals in Iowa City since Jan. 8, died Thursday night, spokesman Tom Moore said. Firefighters found her bound in the basement of her burning home. A passerby had noticed smoke coming from her house. At least two separate fires damaged the house, investigators said.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Sessions Lamont Harper, 34, of Fort Dodge.
He was arrested on Jan. 11 in Des Moines. He's currently charged with first-degree kidnapping, attempted murder, third-degree sexual assault and first-degree arson. - (Newsroom) - (Burned Alive!) - (crime) |

| One of Zimbabwe's last remaining white farmers was strangled and burned to death in an attack inside his home yesterday Don Stewart, 68, was set upon shortly before dawn in the bedroom of his tightly-guarded homestead near Norton, 25 miles west of Harare. He was one of the last 300 white farmers left in Zimbabwe. There were 4,000 five years ago. Police insisted that Mr Stewart's murder was the work of common criminals and had "no political motive". Nothing besides a hunting rifle was stolen. His assailants were unable to penetrate the barred windows and reinforced doors of his homestead on Ingwerati dairy farm. Instead, they entered through the roof and strangled Mr Stewart in his bed. Then they covered him with a mattress, doused it in petrol and set him alight. Mr Stewart, who was born in Zimbabwe, lived alone. Jury selected in rape, burning of Green Bay woman by Juan and Gregorio   GREEN BAY, Wis. - A jury of eight women and six men, including two alternates, was selected in Waukesha County Thursday for the trial of a man accused in the abduction, rape and burning of a woman in Brown County in August 2003. Juan Nieto, 25, faces trial on charges of being party to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, kidnapping and five counts of second-degree sexual assault with use of force. Gregorio Morales, 28, pleaded no contest in April and is to be sentenced in December. Morales is expected to testify in Nieto's trial. Prosecutors said the two men, who worked at a Brown County dairy, abducted the victim from the parking lot of a Green Bay nightclub, drove her to a rural Rockland field and sexually assaulted her, and then she was doused with lighter fluid, set on fire and left for dead. - (NNN Newsroom) - (Burned Alive!) |
Man Sentenced for Attempting to Burn Family You may remember the Beaufort man who tried to set his wife and children on fire last spring. Today Oscar Lane was sentenced to two 12-year sentences to run concurrently for breaking into his wife's home and then dousing her and their children with gasoline before trying to set them on fire.A police officer who happened to be patrolling the area found the woman running from her home.Lane ran off but later turned himself in. - (Tyrone N. | Illegal migrant Juan Robles Gutierrez - driver of bus evacuating Dallas with Senior Citizens burned alive - charged with mass murder The driver of a chartered bus that erupted in flames near Dallas last month, killing 23 elderly passengers, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide. The bus was carrying elderly residents of a Houston-area nursing home to Dallas-area facilities to escape the approach of Hurricane Rita. Witnesses had said that Juan Robles Gutierrez helped pull passengers from the bus before it was fully engulfed in flames on Interstate 45 near Wilmer the morning of September 23rd. But Dallas sheriff's Sergeant Don Peritz says investigators could find no proof of that. Police Say Man Walks Into Store, Sets Wife On Fire - Woman Suffers Third-Degree Burns Over Half Of Body - Lost that lovin' feelin'   Police in Prince George's County, Md., said a man accused of walking into a mobile phone store, dousing his wife with gasoline and then setting her on fire is now behind bars. Roger Hargrave, 33, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. Monday in District Heights, Md. Witnesses told police that Hargrave walked into the T-Mobile store in Clinton, Md., where his wife worked, and began throwing gasoline on her. Police: Man set his girlfriend on fire after she broke off engagement  Police in Macon, Ga., arrested a man Monday who allegedly doused his girlfriend with gasoline and set her on fire after she broke off their engagement. Jomekia Pope, a 29-year-old who has a history of domestic abuse, faces charges of aggravated assault and arson stemming from a horrific assault Sunday at his ex-girlfriend's home. Latosha Taylor, 26, was in critical condition undergoing her third surgery Wednesday, her stepfather Harold Banks said. UK: Three Asian foreigners to be extradited in brutal kidnap, stabbing and burning alive of 15-year-old White Scot Kriss Donald   The country where the three were arrested and their identities cannot be revealed for legal reasons. Kriss was abducted by people in a car as he walked near his home in Pollokshields, Glasgow, on March 15 last year. He was driven on a terrifying 200-mile trip around Scotland, before being stabbed 13 times and burned alive. His body was found dumped on a walkway next to the River Clyde. Last December, Glasgow shopkeeper Daanish Zahid, 20, was jailed for at least 17 years for murdering Kriss. Stephen Soules gets life for raping and killing a Western Kentucky University student in her dorm room   A Scottsville man who admitted raping and killing a Western Kentucky University student in her dorm room will spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance for parole. Barring the emergence of new evidence, the sentencing of Stephen Soules yesterday concluded the investigation into the 2003 arson attack on Melissa "Katie" Autry, officials said. Autry, 18, was raped, sodomized and set on fire in her dorm room on May 4, 2003. Men Face Judge In Brownstown Home Invasion and Gang Rape of 13-year-old Girl - and set her on fire   Two men face a judge in a preliminary examination on Wednesday for allegedly attacking a teenage girl during a home invasion. Ronald Kinney, 18, and Andres Montgomery, 25, were charged last month with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, home invasion and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Police said Kinney and Montgomery entered through an open door at a home where a 13-year-old girl was sleeping. The two men allegedly raped the teen and set her hair afire before leaving the home with the girl's computer, police said. |

made his first appearance in court. Gregorio Morales, 27, was arrested
in New Mexico last month and waived extradition. Another man suspected in the
case, Juan Nieto, 23, remains at large. Morales said that he and Nieto
drove the woman into rural Rockland and took turns sexually assaulting her. He
did not discuss how or why the woman was doused
