The Supreme Court has ruled it unconstitutional and deemed it "cruel and unusual punishment." when Gregory Thompson was put on trial for murder 22 years ago, his lawyers did not raise insanity as a defense. He confessed, was convicted and sentenced to death for killing Brenda Lane. She was 28 years old, well-liked in her community and she had been married just a few months. Brenda Lane was a newlywed on the cusp of motherhood when she encountered Greg Thompson at a Shelbyville Wal-Mart. The facts of what happened on New Year's Day in 1985 have never been in dispute. Thompson and his girlfriend, a juvenile, wanted to get from Tennessee to Georgia, so they kidnapped Brenda Lane, stole her car and then drove around for an hour and a half on remote country roads, as Thompson searched for a place to kill her. They stopped along a rural country road near a field. Schizo Negro raped blonde woman patient in hospital bed FORT WORTH A woman assaulted inside a North Texas hospital says there wasn't enough done to protect her from a dangerous patient. Now, she's suing Huguley Memorial Medical Center. The action is the second such case and lawsuit against the health care facility. In a 2003 case, a male nurse raped an elderly stroke patient. The current case happened in a mental health ward of the hospital. The attack happened because hospital workers put a man, with a history of behavior and mental health problems, in a room next to a heavily sedated woman. "He entered her room wearing nothing but a t-shirt." Evidence shows Perry Brown carefully arranged his bed making it look like he was asleep. Then, he snuck into the blonde haired woman's room next door. Brown was a 60-year-old schizophrenic who had been psychotic in the past. He was also a drug abuser and a convicted felon. Black Suspect in Murder of 71-year-old White Man at Farmer's Market Arrested  Within 30 minutes of surveillance video airing on television newscasts, Baton Rouge police say they got the tips they needed to make an arrest in the murder of an elderly security guard. The murder happened at Pete's Farmer's Market. Derrick Williams, 25, was charged with First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. "He is done, no more," said the Baton Rouge Police Chief. The grainy surveillance video released by police shows a gunman arguing with 71-year-old security guard Alfred Mequet. The gunman demands money and attempts to open two cash registers. Coed victim of rape by crazy homeless black fears death from AIDS infection CINCINNATI -- A sexual assault victim is still being victimized by a fear that the man accused of raping her could be HIV-positive. A 23-year-old student at the University of Cincinnati told investigators she was grabbed as she walked in her sleep, and a motorist spotted a man raping her near an entrance ramp from Interstate 71. Dexter Ford, 52, was arrested and charged later that day with rape in connection with the attack. Ford was ordered to undergo tests for sexually transmitted disease, and his victim was also tested. Ford’s sister told a judge that her brother was diagnosed as schizophrenic and lived on the streets, and some homeless advocates said that can prove a dangerous situation. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Buffalo black accused of raping and holding a 24-year old woman hostage A 53-year old Buffalo man is accused of raping and holding a 24-year old woman hostage. Police say Ibery Frazier met the woman at her home then he took her back to his apartment, tied her to his bed and raped her 3 times. The woman told police she was not given any food. She says Frazier let her go 4 days later. Frazier claims he did have sex with the woman but it was "consensual". He also says the two smoked crack cocaine together. Girl says she recognizes black who raped her in March A young rape victim helped catch her own attacker when she saw him at a Dunkin Donuts eight months after the assault, prosecutors said Wednesday. Tyrone Tolliver, 36, faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault for allegedly raping the 16-year-old girl. The victim had been waiting at a bus stop when Tolliver pulled up in his car. "The defendant told the victim to get into his car. The victim refused." Tolliver pulled a gun and forced the victim into his car and drove her to the 8400 block of South Justine, where he raped her. Utility Worker Darkie Arrested, Accused Of Rape In Darke Co. Deputies in Darke County were called to a home after a woman called 911 and reported that she had been raped. The woman told deputies that a utility man entered her home and raped her. While at the residence, a deputy observed a male subject and a vehicle driving by the residence. The denoscription of the man and the vehicle matched the denoscription that the woman gave. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the man as the alleged attacker, investigators said. According to deputies, the man was identified as Ali Drew Warner, 27, of Dayton. He was arrested and booked into the Darke County Jail on a charge of rape. Deputies said the alleged rape happened in Monroe Township. They said Warner was hired by Dayton Power and Light through a contracting firm, and was at the woman’s home to shut off her power. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
14-Year-Old Negro Accused Of Sexual Attacks On Five Women Outside Publix ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 14-year-old boy is accused of random sex attacks on five women. A tip from inside the Orlando Police Department revealed the accusations against the boy before he was even charged. Several of the women were attacked in the parking lot of a Publix store. One woman said the boy even tried to rape her. Detectives say the Boone High School freshman is in custody and they are in the process of charging him with attempted rape. The 14-year-old reportedly looked for women who were walking to their car and, while they were unloading their groceries, he attacked them. Orlando detectives say 14-year-old Malik Gaither attacked five different women in the Publix parking lot. In one case, while a woman was unloading her groceries, detectives said Gaither walked up behind her and grabbed her rear. He then pulled out a fake BB gun and tried to carjack her. The woman screamed for help and Gaither took off. While running away, police said, Gaither spotted a second victim and grabbed the woman, stuck the BB gun in her face and told her he was going to rape her. The woman fought with the teenager and was able to get away. The Boone High School teenager was arrested for battery charges. Black Teens In Gang Rape Linked To Crime By DNA    WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Authorities said three teenagers charged in the brutal gang rape of a Palm Beach County woman have been linked to the crime by DNA. Tommy Lee Poindexter, 18, Nathan Walker Junior, 17, and 14-year-old Avion Lawson face charges including sexual battery, kidnapping and burglary. Documents released Thursday said DNA an analysis by the Palm Beach County Crime Laboratory found DNA from the three at the scene. Black student arrested in connection with kidnap and rape of high school student Just two days after a brazen attack on a local teenager, former Palo Alto High School student was arrested last night on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and two counts of sexual assault. Todd David Burpee, 20, a 2006 Paly graduate, was arrested near a relative's house in San Jose. Police said they suspect that Burpee had been recently staying with a relative in the San Jose area. The victim of assault, a 17-year-old girl and Gunn High School student, was knocked down, struck several times in the face, and dragged into a vehicle then taken to another location, sexually assaulted, and then driven to Sunnyvale. The suspect, Marlon Ross Hudson was committed to Young Correctional Institution on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, possession of a deadly weapon during a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, aggravated menacing and terroristic threatening. 14-year-old girl abducted from bus stop, raped by black A 14-year-old girl was kidnapped from a bus stop in Clayton County and then raped,. The attack occurred Oct. 26. The girl was outside Silver Spring Apartments when a minivan pulled up, Sgt. Rebecca Brown said.
The van driver opened the side door as another man walked by, snatched the girl and pushed her inside the van. They then drove to an unknown location and one of the men raped the girl, Brown said. The suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 18 and 19, about 5-feet-10 with a medium complexion and hazel eyes. He is known to frequent the areas of Mount Zion Road. Black admits to murder of White woman in church   N.C. -- The man arrested for stabbing two Meals on Wheels workers at a Rocky Mount church, leaving one dead and the other hospitalized, has confessed to the crime. Rocky Mount police said Tommy Lee Holiday, 30, admitted to authorities that he stabbed Debbie Kornegay and Eve Beasley. Kornegay, 58, died in the attack, while Beasley was taken to Nash Hospital first and then transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She is in critical condition. Kornegay and Beasley were preparing meals at Lakeside Baptist Church on Oct. 18 when witnesses say Holiday tried to rob them. A judge sentenced him to death on Monday, nearly nine years after he left a 5-year-old girl to be eaten alive by alligators in the Everglades and tried to kill her mother. Braddy, 58, attacked Shandelle Maycock and daughter Quatisha after he was released early from prison for good behavior in another case. He was convicted in July of first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, attempted escape and other charges. She was alive when alligators bit her on the head and stomach, a medical examiner said.

Black nursing home employee gets 99 years for rape of geriatric and pediatric patients Jurors in Belton decided on a 99-year prison sentence Tuesday after finding Earnest Lee Glover, Jr., 46, of Temple guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault in attacks last year on residents of the Bell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Temple. Glover was arrested after a sexual assault was reported on Dec. 7, 2006 at the facility. The center provides care for both geriatric and pediatric patients. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
