Woman Raped At Knifepoint By Tywan Fooks Who Knocked On Door A Dover man is behind bars after being accused of raping a woman several times at knifepoint. City police said the woman's ordeal began early Friday when she answered a knock at her door on Woodcrest Drive from a man asking to use her telephone. Police said the woman allowed 33-year-old Tywan Fooks to enter her home. That's when he allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and forced the woman into a bedroom. Police said the woman did not know Fooks before the rape. A warrant was obtained for his arrest and Fooks turned himself in to police on Saturday. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Rape Suspect Behind Bars - He raped and sodomized 76-year-old woman Athens-Clarke County Police said they have arrested a man suspected of raping an elderly woman. George Holmes, 56, has been charged with rape, aggravated sodomy, and kidnapping with bodily injury. He turned himself in on Sunday afternoon, and remains in the Athens-Clarke County Jail. Memphis police officer charged with rape of girl in Rossville A Memphis police officer who was arrested and charged with rape of a minor remained in the Fayette County Jail on $50,000 bond. Roy Shotwell, 46, was arrested and charged with three counts of rape of a 15-year-old-girl in a Rossville home. An Affidavit of Complaint said deputies received a call from the alleged victim's mother. She told them that her daughter had been raped by a Memphis police officer who worked the Airways Station A shift. When investigators interviewed the victim, she told them that she "had been raped multiple times by...the officer, during the last three years." Durham Negro Charged With Rape A Durham man was arrested and charged with raping a woman. Cleveland Augusta Spence, 45, was charged with first-degree rape and placed in jail. Spence is a registered sex offender and was convicted of second-degree rape in 1996 in Durham. A 46-year-old woman told officers she was walking shortly after midnight on Jan. 31 when a man approached her and asked for a light. She gave him a light, and he then grabbed her and dragged her inside an abandoned house in the 800 block of Mallard Avenue. Arrest ends hunt for suspected black East End rapist Police on Wednesday said they captured a serial rapist who terrorized women in Pittsburgh's East End and nearby suburbs and sexually assaulted at least seven women over nearly 20 years. DNA evidence points to Keith Wood, 49, of Highland Park, as the notorious "East End rapist" and specifically ties him to the July 2000 rape of an Edgewood woman, police said. DNA that freed one Negro links another to Cobb rape A case involving a 1981 Cobb County rape that cost an innocent man 24 years of freedom is headed for trial again — this time with a new suspect tied through DNA to that rape and others in Fulton and DeKalb counties. Floyd Antonio Arnold, 43, faces a possible life sentence if convicted on two counts of armed robbery, three counts of rape, plus charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment. He is being held in the Cobb County jail.
Arnold pleaded guilty in Fulton on Jan. 2 to kidnapping and raping a Sandy Springs woman and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, said Lyn Vaughn, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office.

Cops: Gang rape of 11-year-old girl taped on cell phone If five Macomb County teens who took turns having sex with a neighborhood girl didn't know she was 11 then, they knew when they were done, police say. "They asked" before they left the house, Eastpointe Detective Lt. Leo Borowsky said Wednesday. Police say they recorded the act on a cell phone. Now, the teens could face up to life in prison if convicted of raping the girl in the basement of an Eastpointe home. The 10-second cell phone video clip, which no longer exists, was passed around the girl's neighborhood until her mother heard about it and reported it to police. The five suspects, ages 15-19, are charged as adults. "The sad thing is she was raped by these five men repeatedly. They took turns and coerced her and forced her into this," Besides Reginald Pope, the others charged are Reginald Robinson Brown, 19, Careese Adams-Johnson, 16, 15-year-old Derrick McGuire and 16-year-old Jonathon Powell. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Tacoma principal charged with rape pleads not guilty A Tacoma middle school principal pleaded not guilty to a rape charge today and was released by a Superior Court judge on his personal recognizance pending his trial. 35-year-old Harold Wright Junior appeared before a judge. Prosecutors asked to set bail at 10-thousand dollars. He is charged with one count of second-degree rape in an alleged attack on a 19-year-old woman at an after-hours party on January 31st, 2004. Two other men are charged with second-degree rape in the case. Wright is the principal of Baker Middle School who is a husband with three children. He is on administrative leave from his job pending the outcome of the case. Sex offender pleads guilty to rape charges A high-risk sex offender has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a Greece woman. Michael Parker admitted his guilt at the beginning of his trial in State Supreme Court Friday. Parker attacked the woman outside a garden store on Stone Road last Easter. Several customers got him off the woman and held him down until police arrived. In exchange for his plea, the judge will cap Parker's prison sentence at nine and a half years. 21 years later DNA nails the right black rapist Twelve days after the initial rape happened in 1985, there was another rape, which happened within three miles of the initial rape. Kenneth Wicker was arrested and convicted in that case. He was sentenced to serve four years in prison, and served that time. The D.A.’s office has taken the DNA evidence from both of those rapes, compared it and found a match. That DNA also matches Wicker. He has been arrested in connection with April 1985 rape that Williams was originally convicted of. D.A. Self-proclaimed youth minister and convicted rapist wanted for homosexual assault of a 10-year-old boy Sex Crimes detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a self-proclaimed youth minister and convicted rapist who is currently under investigation for the reported sexual assault of a 10-year-old boy. Brian Bernard Hunter, 31, is currently wanted for probation violation in Memphis, where he was convicted of the statutory rape of 13-year-old boy. Hunter was arrested in Nashville at 12:30 a.m. on October 21, 2006, for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and driving without a license. Texas Police ID Black Suspect in Serial Homo Rapes of White Men  One of America's most wanted homo faggot predators is off the streets. Residents of Baytown were relieved Wednesday after a suspected rapist was arrested. The suspect, 19-year-old Baytown resident Keith Chester Hill, has been charged with one incident, but investigators say he could be involved in as many as five. Hill took part in five lineups today, and the Harris County’ Sheriff’s Department said one victim identified Hill from one of those lineups for a home invasion. The district attorney’s office has also accepted aggravated robbery charges against Hill. But Baytown police say even more charges could follow. Baytown Police Department Lt. Boynton Beach Mall Shooting Suspect Arrested - Pierre Was Hiding In Closet  A suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at a Palm Beach County mall on Christmas Eve was arrested along with a second man. Wilson Pierre Jr. was wanted on a second-degree murder charge. He had warrants out for his arrest on that charge, as well as failure to appear in court on an original charge of cocaine possession. Pierre, 21, was arrested in Tallahassee after leaving South Florida,. He was found hiding in a closet. Also arrested Wesner Jermaine Pierre, 22, who was charged with being an accessory after the fact and resisting an officer without violence. Police said a DNA hit led to rape charges against Jimmy J. Smith, 52, who is already serving time in Missouri for other crimes in Jackson County. Jennifer Spangler said she was 15 on Feb. 23, 1999, when she was attacked while waiting for a school bus in Kansas City, Kan. "He had me at gunpoint. I really couldn't run," Spangler said. Death Penalty for Cop Killer Ronell Wilson Sticks tongue out at widow After two days of deliberations, a federal jury sentenced Ronell Wilson to death for the 2003 killings of undercover detectives James Nemorin and Rodney Andrews. When the verdict was read, Wilson rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at Nemorin's widow Rose. This is the first death penalty sentence for a federal case in NY State in over 50 years. While family and friends of the deceased cheered, Wilson's younger brother shouted after the verdict was read. The Sun said it sounded like a curse, but Daniel Wilson was taken out of the court room, only for Nemorin's mother-in-law to say, "You are a dead man!" Hakim Valore accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and robbing a woman and her babysitter  Hakim Valore is charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault, two counts of false imprisonment, and two counts of first degree reckless endangerment along with single counts of armed robbery, substantial battery and battery. Valore allegedly broke down the woman's front door, assaulted the male baby sitter with scissors and a steak knife. He then took the babysitter's watch while the mother was out running errands. Undre Beasley arrested in rape, assault cases for allegedly preying on young girls Authorities on both sides of the state line are investigating a Texarkana, Ark., man for allegedly preying on young girls. Undre Beasley, 22, is being held in the Miller County Correctional Facility on charges of rape and sexual assault, according to court documents. The charge of rape was filed in December while the sexual assault charge was filed Friday. The cases involve two different victims. 9 Black Youths Convicted in Halloween Hate-crime Beatings of Three Young White Women  Nine black youths were convicted Friday in juvenile court of beating three white women in a racially charged attack on Halloween night. The youths, ranging from 12 to 18 years old, could receive sentences from probation to confinement in juvenile prison until age 25. All were charged with felony assault. The judge found eight of them guilty of hate crimes. The attack occurred in an upscale area of the city known for its elaborate Halloween decorations. Prosecutors said the confrontation began when a crowd of black youths threw objects at the three young white women. September trial set in '82 slaying Convicted rapist pleads not guilty An ailing state prison inmate pleaded not guilty yesterday to the 1982 rape and murder of White 19-year-old Rebecca Lynn Williams, a crime that sent another man to death row for nine years. Kenneth Maurice Tinsley, who has been suffering from serious heart problems for more than a year, sat in a wheelchair while one of his two court-appointed defense attorneys entered the plea in Culpeper County Circuit Court. The 61-year-old defendant, who is currently serving two life sentences in Sussex II state prison for a 1984 rape in Albemarle County, said almost nothing during the 20-minute proceeding. LaShawn Devon Byrd arrested for Maxcy Gregg Park Rape Columbia police have announced an arrest in the recent rape of a woman at Maxcy Gregg Park, and say the suspect may be connected to a crime which happened just a short time later. Officers have arrested 24-year-old LaShawn Devon Byrd, and charged him with first degree criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a pistol by a convicted felon. Byrd was arrested after authorities matched DNA match evidence to records they already had on Byrd. Byrd has a criminal record. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Skull Found in creek ID'd as 5-year-old White girl Emily Rimel - kidnaped, raped and murdered by black   A skull found in a creek earlier this week has been identified as that of a five-year-old columbus-area girl who disappeared a year and a-half ago. Investigators have identified the remains of Emily Rimel through DNA. Emily was last seen at her home early in the morning on December 7th, 2004. Two people fishing found the skull on Tuesday. The Coroner ays there was trauma to the skull. With confirmation that the remains are those of Emily Rimel, the prosecutor's office can move ahead with plans to seek murder charges against the main suspect. Lindsay Bruce, is serving a 10-year sentence after he was convicted of kidnapping Rimel in December 2004. At the time, Bruce was not charged with murder. While Ohio law does not require the presence of a corpse to charge someone in a homicide, doing so without a body does raise the chances that a jury could acquit. O'Brien says this could easily become a death penalty case based on several factors, including Rimel's age. Over the next few weeks, reports will be written state crime lab investigators and the county coroner's office. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday. A teenager is under arrest for raping a woman in her MetroWest apartment. The 17-year-old suspect was found living in a garage only about a mile away from the Tradewinds complex where the attack happened Wednesday. Officers arrived at the condo overnight to find a door partially open. When they went inside, they said, the suspect was hiding under a table and apparently living in the garage. An anonymous caller recognized Leighton Henry, 17, from surveillance video shown on TV and called 911, sending detectives scrambling to search for evidence. Detectives found a Jamaican passport.
