2 (blacks) arrested, 23-year-old sought in Portage homicide case - (a White man was shot to death)
PORTAGE, Wis. - Two additional arrests have been made in connection with a homicide case in Portage, and police are seeking a fourth suspect, according to a release from the Portage Police Department. Police said Wednesday that Elisha M.D. Bias, 20, and Marcus S. Johnson, 23, both of Madison, were arrested in connection with the Dec. 18 shooting death of 22-year-old Jason Laack of rural Rio. Online court records show Mario F. Brown Jr., 24, of McFarland, is facing a felony first-degree intentional-homicide charge in the shooting death. Police said Wednesday night that the fourth person of interest, seen in a surveillance picture, has been identified as 23-year-old Christopher A. Bolin. According to the criminal complaint, Laack's sister told officers she knew Brown from school and arranged for him to come to her apartment to buy marijuana from her brother. During the drug transaction, Brown told a man he was with to shoot Laack's sister's boyfriend, but when the man fired the gun, it did not go off, according to the criminal complaint. When Brown took the gun and pointed it at the sister's boyfriend, Laack stepped between the two men. - (Black-on-white) |
