Ga. Supreme Court throws out Macon Co. death sentence for racist black that murdered a White man  Georgia's Supreme Court has thrown out the conviction and death sentence for a man convicted of killing a Macon County bank vice president in 1999. The court ruled that Artemus Rick Walker was probably incompetent to stand trial due to mental illness. They said the lawyer who represented him at his 2002 murder trial failed to present evidence about his mental illness that might have prevented the conviction. On May 12, 1999, the court's summary said Walker stabbed Lynwood Ray Gresham 12 times, in the chest and back, outside Gresham's home. Walker hired a second man to help him rob and kill a "rich" man, the summary said. After the pair rode their bikes to Gresham's home, the second man refused to stab Gresham himself. Friday's ruling upheld a 2009 ruling in Butts County, where the state's death row is located. That court heard testimony about Walker's mental state. On May 12, 1999, the court's summary said Walker stabbed Lynwood Ray Gresham 12 times, in the chest and back, outside Gresham's home. Walker hired a second man to help him "rob and kill a rich white man" the summary said. Black arrested for stabbing murder of White man who only cautioned black about driving without headlights  Authorities arrested and charged a suspect for killing a Newark, Del. man Friday, 17 months after the murder took place. Police say 32-year-old Myron Parker of the 300 block of Glasgow Drive, Newark, Del. killed 25-year-old Michael Leger and charged him with manslaughter and other related offenses. Leger died on Oct. 28, 2012 after a verbal altercation between he and Parker escalated to a physical assault. The argument began when the victim yelled at a driver who was traveling without his headlights on in the Glasgow Court Trailer Park. After making several threatening comments, the driver left the scene and Leger called 911. Yet minutes later, the driver returned to the mobile home park with an accomplice and the pair assaulted Leger, who was stabbed in the chest. The suspects fled as paramedics were rushing to the scene. Leger was transported to the Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. - (Black-on-white) |

Update: Black suspect identified who shot two White police officers  NEW BERN, N.C. - One person is dead and two officers are injured after a late night shooting in New Bern on Friday. New Bern Police Chief Toussaint E. Summers, Jr. says officer Alexander Thalmann stopped the suspect, Bryan Stallings, around 11:45 Friday in the area of Craven Terrace and called for back-up from officer Justin Wester. Stallings bolted and when the officers pursued, the suspect fired shots at the officers, hitting both. The officers fired back and killed 35-year-old Stallings. Officer Wester and Officer Thalmann were transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Officer Wester was treated and released. Officer Thalmann remains in the hospital, yet his condition has not been released at this time. Chief Summers says Officer Wester is 23-years-old and has been with the department since November 2012. He says Officer Thalmann is 22-years-old and has been with the department since August 2013. - (Black-on-white) |
Black man who murdered White University of Akron co-ed denied parole  AKRON, OH - Summit County Prosecuting Attorney Sherri Bevan Walsh announced Friday the Ohio Adult Parole Board denied the parole of Victor Logan. Logan was sentenced in 1986 to 30-75 years for the murder of Susan Soldierson, a 22-year-old University of Akron student. In January, the Parole Board approved Logan's parole request. The Summit County Prosecutor's Office requested a full board hearing to persuade the Parole Board to reverse its decision and instead keep Logan in prison. Logan and two accomplices, Marcazuan Lockett and Albert Young, pulled Soldierson into their car in the parking lot of Stonehedge Bowling Alley in a robbery attempt. After ripping her purse from her, they pushed her out of the car. Soldierson died from her head injuries two days later. - (Black-on-white) |

Black student who hit White student in face charged as juvenile  ATLANTA -- Charges have been filed after a student was punched in the face at school, and it was all caught on video. Wednesday afternoon, a Gwinnett County father reached out to 11Alive News to show us a video of his son being punched in the face at his Gwinnett County high school. David Egan is a sophomore at Parkview High School. His father, Daniel, says the student was leaving weight lifting class Tuesday morning when he was confronted by another student in the locker room, accused of stealing his tennis shoes. The video shows Egan getting punched in the face by another student. He stumbles toward the lockers, seemingly in a daze. The video shows him getting shoved, then seconds later, hit with another punch that knocks him to the ground. "He hit him very hard at the top of his nose, which means he actually broke where the nose connects to the skull," Egan said of his son's injuries. Egan said his son had reconstructive surgery Wednesday morning. The father said he won't send his son back to Parkview High School. - (Black-on-white) |

Daughters of beaten white woman thankful she's alive  JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The daughters of a woman found beaten and bruised Sunday in front of a storage unit in the Sunbeam area of Southside are thankful their mom is still alive. They said she was held captive for two days and narrowly escaped when the man she said was keeping her fell asleep. Haywood West, 38, was arrested and charged with felony battery causing great bodily harm, permanent disability or disfigurement, and false imprisonment. Two strangers found the woman on the side of the road, stumbling toward their car and called 911. "For the people who stopped for my mother, I would love to meet them and say thank you so much for helping my mom, 'cause she probably wouldn't have survived," one daughter said. The victim's daughters said they're disgusted and hurt by what their mom said happened to her over the weekend. Graphic images show how badly she was beaten. DNA connects black man to murder of White Winter Haven homeless man  WINTER HAVEN, FL - Winter Haven Police have made an arrest in the murder of a homeless man. Police say James Stewart was found deceased in Inman Park on March 1st. On Thursday, police arrested 43-year-old Demarco Ginn of Winter Haven in connection to his murder. Detectives linked Ginn to the murder after finding blood on a pair of jeans in a duffle bag belonging to him which matched Stewart's DNA. Detectives also learned of the connection between the two by witnesses who stated that Stewart received monthly checks and with the most recent check purchased a bike that he obtained while Ginn was nearby. After Stewart was found dead, detectives say Ginn was seen attempting to sell the bike. However, to date, the bike has not been located. The medical examiner concluded that Stewart was stabbed in the head and neck multiple times, one which was to his jugular vein. Ginn's been charged with first-degree murder and robbery. - (Black-on-white) |

Black Man Found Guilty In White Grosse Pointe Park Neighbor’s Murder  DETROIT - A man has been found guilty in the murder of his neighbor who was beaten and strangled in her Grosse Pointe Park home last May. The prosecution called 40 witnesses to prove that Myron Williams was addicted to crack, and so desperate for the drug that he was willing to kill for it. A cord was found around 35-year-old Sabrina Gianino’s neck when her body was found in the flat she shared with her boyfriend on Wayburn Street, near Jefferson — just east of the Detroit city limit. The Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide caused by strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head. Prosecutors said, after killing Gianino, Williams walked to his nearby dealer’s house and where he traded the victim’s laptop and some other belongings for $30 and a crack rock. - (Black-on-white) |

(White) female bartender recounts chilling armed robbery at St. Roch Tavern by young black males  NEW ORLEANS – "The St. Roch Tavern is a neighborhood staple," said Derrick Floyd, president of the Faubourg St. Roch Improvement Association. That’s why he is shocked that it was robbed at gunpoint just after 6 p.m. Wednesday night. Surveillance video inside the business shows two men walking in. One man went behind the bar and demanded cash from the register, while the other pointed a gun at three customers in the bar. Then, the robber behind the bar jumped over the counter, and the two ran off. It all happened in just 28 seconds. “By the time they were in here and to this side of the bar, I knew they weren't here for beer or tacos,” said bartender Wende Wagner, who was behind the bar when it all happened. Wagner describes the men who robbed the St. Roch Tavern as young black males. The gunman was wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark beanie with a pom pom. Boston trial of black who murdered (White) Irish immigrant goes to jury   The fate of John Graham, the teenager charged with the murder of an Irishman in 2011, now lies in the hands of a 12 person jury at Suffolk Superior Court, Boston. The 19-year-old is charged with the first-degree murder of Ciarán Conneely, known as Kiwi, 36, during a botched robbery attempt in the early hours of October 10, 2011. Conneely, a construction worker, had been living in the U.S for over 12 years and had been moments away from his Dorchester home when he was callously shot dead. He was returning home from an Irish festival. Graham, only 16-years-old at the time, is also charged with eight other offenses, including shooting two other men later in October 2011. Both of those victims survived that attack but now live with the bullets lodged in their body. - (Black-on-white) |

Cowardly black student gets 20 years for Cincinnati State beating of elderly White delivery man and murder-for-hire plot  A Cincinnati State student won't be going back to class any time soon. Kendall Flucas, 21, of Westwood, was sent to prison Wednesday for 20 years after beating a delivery man in a campus restroom and then, while in jail on that charge, scheming to kill the delivery man to prevent him from testifying. Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Ralph Winkler imposed the sentence -- nine years for assault and 11 years for planning to kill the delivery man. Flucas, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was in a Cincinnati State Technical and Community College bathroom Sept. 5 when a delivery man walked in. Flucas asked if he had change for a $20. When the delivery man pulled out his money, Flucas beat him with a rock and robbed him. - (Black-on-white) |

Savage 'knockout' attack - (White) Cyclist Punched By (Black) Man Wielding Machete As Accomplice Tapes Attack CHICAGO – A sound engineer was riding his bike home in Humboldt Park early Saturday when he noticed two guys emerging from an alley, both crouching low. “That’s when I knew they were coming for me,” said the 30-year-old man, who asked not to be named. “Next thing I noticed, one of them had a machete,” said the man, who was biking in the 2500 block of West Potomac, just west of Western, about 3 a.m. Saturday. “I tried to speed past them, but one of them swung the machete at my back wheel.” His bike came to a stop. “And then the same guy punched me in the face.” An accomplice stood by and laughed while recording the attack on his camera phone. “That’s when I thought, ‘Oh, well this guy’s giggling, this is a joke to them. At least I’m not going to get murdered,’ ” said the man, who stood over his bike during the assault — which lasted a little over a minute. “Then the guy hit my back tire with the machete three or four more times and told me to ‘Get the f – - – out of here.’ . . . Family Afraid Bullying Will Turn Into Bullets - black mother leads home invasion and pack attack on White family   A Memphis mother is out on bond, accused of helping her teen daughter beat up a 15-year-old girl. Police say Angela Thomas led a whole group of teenagers to the 15-year-old’s house and even joined in on the attack, which also hurt the girl’s father. The Crane family, who lives in the Berclair neighborhood, says they are living in fear of not knowing what could happen next after being attacked by eight teenage girls and a mother. Billy Crane’s 15-year-old daughter has a black eye and a busted lip. “The mother runs up and is cussing me in my face and at the time, the little kids just ran around and up in the house,” said Crane. “I was stunned. I was like what? In my house? Then the mama followed in behind them.” Police say Thomas joined in on the beating of the 15-year-old. Billy says he struggled to get her and the rest of girls out of his house. “I got scratches all over my neck and back.” Billy says after the girls beat up his daughter, they came outside and one of them grabbed a brick and threw it at him. “I saw it out it of the corner of my eye, a brick coming and just tried to dodge it.” The brick hit him in the arm, leaving a yellowing bruise. Arrest made in 5-year-old unsolved (black-on-white) murder - stabbed and beaten to death  FOLEY, Ala. – Foley police have announced an arrest in connection to a 5-year-old unsolved murder case. Officials said the body of 59-year-old Michael Saucier was found January 23, 2009 in his residence on Bay Street. Investigators have developed evidence against one of the initial suspects, Spencer Ray Jerkins. They said he lived in Foley at the time of the murder. Jerkins had been incarcerated in a Texas Prison. Foley investigators went to Texas to interview him. Authorities said an arrest warrant was signed for Jerkins’ arrest and he was transferred from Huntsville, Texas to the Baldwin County Corrections Center on March 6, 2014. Officials did not release what Jerkins is charged with. In 2009, Foley investigators said Saucier had trauma to his neck and head. Detectives at one point had concentrated their efforts in Escambia County, Florida. They said Saucier had lived there for some time before moving to Foley to be closer to his son. - (Black-on-white) |

Police ID 2 Suspects In Slaying Of Waltham Teen  WALTHAM, Mass. — Authorities have issued arrest warrants for two people wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old Waltham High School senior. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding 22-year-old Domingo Mendes and 21-year-old Taylor Poulin. Tyler Zanco, co-captain of Waltham’s wrestling team, was shot just after 10 p.m. last Thursday at an apartment complex. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. Mendes is wanted on murder, gun and drug charges. He is described as black, 5-feet, 10-inches tall and 165 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous. Chance encounter with concealed handgun license holder saves White woman from black robber  DALLAS -- There is constant sound and motion at DART’s Convention Center Station, and it’s one of Kim Lanphere’s regular stops. "I use DART 30-to-40 times a week," she said. "At most stations, I feel relatively safe, because there’s light and people." But as of Saturday, her feeling of safety is gone. Dallas police say she passed 23-year-old Jamail Koroma on a sidewalk near the station. "I felt him change his gait, and at the time I had by bag here," she said, motioning by her side, "and I put it on my shoulder, just to hold it safe." He not only made Lanphere nervous, but another witness, too. A second woman was near the station Saturday evening, and asked us to hide her identity. "I was like, 'I don’t feel good about this guy. Something’s not right with this,'" the witness said. Their instincts were dead on. "The next thing I know, he goes, 'Lady, I’ve got a gun, give me your bag!'" Lanphere said. They struggled, and in those panicked seconds, our witness ran over to help and changed everything. "When he said, 'I’ll shoot you,' then it was, we’re in real danger right now," she said. "I just pulled my gun and said, 'Drop it.'" She has a concealed handgun license, and when she pointed her Glock at Koroma, he ran. White man fights off fiance's evil black attacker in Royal Oak   ROYAL OAK, Mich. - Police have arrested and charged a man believed to have gone on a small crime spree in the middle of the night around Royal Oak and Southfield. His alleged crimes began around Saturday at 3 a.m. when he's said to have attacked a woman returning home. Police say the woman had just parked her car in the street and was walking to her front porch when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The victim's fiancé was home at the time and witnessed the attack as he opened the door to greet the woman. The fiance tackled the suspect to the ground and fought the man. The suspect was able to get away and drove off in a white Cadillac. The couple then found a knife the suspect had dropped on the front porch. Later, at about 3:20 a.m., Southfield police were alerted of a home invasion in which the homeowner was fighting with the suspect. The suspect is said to have kicked in the front door and was trying to steal a TV. Police say the denoscription of this suspect matched the same one who attempted to attack the woman just minutes before. Oak Park police later found the white Cadillac and arrested Angelo Taylor, 45, of Clinton Township. Police say the vehicle he was driving was stolen from Detroit on Friday. - (Black-on-white) |
VIDEO: 4 Black Suspects Sought In Brick Attack On White Female Student In North Philadelphia PHILADELPHIA — Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department have released surveillance video in hopes that the public can help identify the group of teenage girls that hit a 19-year-old woman in the face with a brick as she walked with her boyfriend. Authorities say the woman was walking with her boyfriend on Norris Street around 6 p.m. on Friday when four girls believed to be between 16 and 17-years-old approached from behind. One of the girls hit the victim in the face with a brick at the intersection of 17th and Norris Streets, while the three other girls tried to rob the victim’s boyfriend. After the attack, the suspects ran and were last seen boarding a SEPTA bus headed south on 17th Street. Video shows black snatching cell phone from White woman in Capitol South Metro station  WASHINGTON - Metro Transit Police say a cell phone thief was caught on tape inside the Capital South Metro station last Saturday in a robbery that took place in the middle of the day. They say the incident happened just after 2 p.m. last Saturday, March 22. The suspect was stopped and arrested outside the station, and the cell phone he stole was also recovered. Police say the surveillance video showing the incident is a good reminder to riders of the importance of maintaining awareness of their surroundings, especially when using electronic devices. They say it’s also never a good idea to chase a suspect, because no property is worth the risk of getting hurt. Australia: Smirking black man accused of vicious bus attack blames White driver but will stay in lock up    UPDATE: A Gold Coast university student accused of a brutal bus driver bashing has claimed the driver started the fight. Jean-Adelphe Lasm, 20, briefly appeared in Southport Magistrates Court today charged with the assault of a bus driver at Southport last week. White waiter needs stitches after black woman hits him with glass dish in unprovoked attack  ANDERSON, S.C. —Police say an Anderson woman has been charged after she threw a glass dish at her server, injuring him. It happened at the O'Charley's on Clemson Boulevard around 2 p.m. Thursday. Police said the server, Terry Davis, reported that customer Brittany Williams was very disrespectful toward him. He told Williams he was going to get a manager to speak to her. Davis said that's when Williams got up, started cursing at him and threw a glass dish at his face. "All I could remember is this salad plate come flying in the air and she slung it like a Frisbee - hit me right there. And I had credit cards and receipts in my hand and I remember falling down on the floor. It just dumbfounded me," said Davis. Davis was treated by EMS for cuts on his face and arm. Off-Duty Guardsman, Doctor Credited For Saving White Woman Stabbed Outside Gym By Black Man  COLUMBUS, Ohio - A full day after 25-year-old Rikki Whitaker was stabbed in an apparent random assault outside a gym on the city's west side, she remains in critical condition at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Whitaker was stabbed in the parking lot of LA Fitness located at 1800 Tanglewood Park Blvd. at about 6:03 a.m. Thursday. She was stabbed in the upper right side of her abdomen. A doctor who happened to be working out at the gym at the time of the assault, and a Army National Guard major are being credited with saving Whitaker's life. "I would like to thank the off-duty officer and the off-duty doctor that rendered aid to the victim at the gym. Her survival is in large part due to the emergency medical treatment that she received at the gym by those two individuals," said Columbus police Sgt. Steven Little. Major Patrick Rippeth, who has served two deployments, most recently in Iraq in 2008, said he has never used his training in the field until Thursday. Investigators said they believe the suspects attempted to abduct Whitaker as she was exiting her car. Elderly White Woman Discouraged From Calling Police After Attacked In Walmart by Black Male   SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - A man assaults an elderly woman in a Wal-Mart but now the store is under fire for not calling police in San Bernardino. You can see surveillance video showing the man trying to take the necklace from the woman. She fights back, the necklace ends up on the ground, and he runs away. Linda Andrade, 68, says Wal-Mart managers then discouraged her from calling police. "She says well if you want me to call the police... You'll have to be here two or three hours," recalled Andrade. "The fact that we didn't get the call on something like this when it's a grand theft involving a senior. Black shot dead with his own gun after sexually assaulting woman in Bywater, NOPD says A 26-year-old man was shot dead with his own gun after he sexually assaulted a woman at school construction site in the Bywater, New Orleans police said Friday. The shooter, a man who was not identified, disarmed the woman's attacker and opened fire around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. The man who was killed approached the couple as they walked along the 3800 block of North Rampart Street at Alvar Street outside the old Frederick Douglass High School, according to a police spokesman. The man brandished a gun and demanded the pair walk to a building undergoing renovation, NOPD said. The assailant, identified in police reports as Samuel Raines, began assaulting the woman, and the other man was able to get ahold of the weapon, NOPD said. - (Black-on-white) |

Black Sidney man receives life in prison for live-in girlfriend's death   A Sidney man convicted of first-degree murder for the 2011 stabbing death of his girlfriend in their home near Sidney was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison. 48 year old Craig Anthony Johnson was also sentenced to 40-50 years for use of a weapon to commit a felony and 10-20 years for possession of a deadly weapon. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively. District Judge Derek Weimer stressed the heinous nature of the offense before handing down the sentences, according to Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub. Johnson was found guilty of the three felonies in a late December jury trial. Johnson was convicted of killing 42-year-old April Smith. Smith was found bound, strangled and beaten to death on her living room floor. An autopsy showed she died from an abdominal stab wound. - (Black-on-white) |

Cowardly feral black teen arrested in 'knockout' assault of disabled White man  JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 16-year-old was arrested Friday, accused of attacking a disabled man pumping gas last month. Kevin Johnson is charged with abuse of a disabled adult in the Feb. 4 attack at the Hess station on Merrill Road. Michael Caraway was walking with a cane when he was struck in the face by a group a teens he believes was playing the "knockout game." Caraway said the pain was extreme for a long time after he was attacked in February. "I'm doing better, just taking things one day at a time," said Caraway. UK: Jealous black boyfriend who stabbed his white girlfriend 29 times    A jealous lover who murdered his girlfriend over her affair with a man she met on a dating site for Oxbridge graduates was jailed for life today. Jonathan Tebbs, 46, stabbed dedicated town hall chief Kate Dixon 29 times with a Swiss Army knife before reading an Oscar Wilde poem about a man who kills his wife. He stripped her clothes off and calmly carried her into the shower where he washed the blood from her lifeless body at a flat in Streatham, south London. The killer attempted to scrub the murder scene clean and then searched on the internet for Wilde's The Ballad of Reading Gaol, which includes the verse: 'Yet each man kills the thing he loves … The coward does it with a kiss, the brave man with the sword.' Black Polk teen gets life in fatal shooting of White musician  BARTOW – A central Florida teen has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting an Orlando musician outside a bar during a set break. A Polk County judge sentenced 19-year-old Samuel Sweet Jr. on Wednesday. He was convicted in January of first-degree murder. Ralph Ameduri Jr. had been playing bass at a Winter Haven bar in September 2011. Authorities say he was shot in the head during a botched robbery. The Ledger reports that three teens testified that they dropped Sweet off at the bar before the robbery. A patron at the bar also identified Sweet as the shooter. - (Black-on-white) |

Another Good Samaritan Act Thwarts Incident With Violent Suspect   CENTER CITY - Forty-year old Steven Mason has now been booked on serious charges in this life threatening attack on SEPTA Police Officer Ronald Jones Monday afternoon. Authorities believe that Officer Jones' brave struggle with Mason, coupled with help from riders and officers arriving on the scene prevented a tragedy. "He stayed on his feet, he stayed engaged. He protected the public. He used the tools he's equipped with. He was fast. He did a fabulous job," SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel said. The man convicted of killing their loved one was sentenced to life in prison on Monday. Keith Grimmett went back to a cell he'll be spending years in after a judge gave him life in prison. Victim impact statements were full of tears and anger as the grandfather of 30-year-old Robert Kuentz called it a cowardly, barbaric crime that took the life of his grandson. "He's a man but to me, he's my son. He's a good kid and he was my best friend also. I'm lucky I got to have the opportunity to have that relationship with him," Henry Kuentz said. Grimmet was charged with murder after shooting the Robert Kuentz, his store manager, at a Mac Haik dealership in 2012. Video: Obnoxious black (San Francisco) BART Rider Harasses Passengers, Gropes White Woman Around 7:30 p.m. Monday night, a man headed south on BART near the Colma Station made his presence known via a boom box loud enough to be heard over the notoriously screeching sound of BART trains. After multiple riders asked the man to turn it down, one woman stood up to confront him directly, which only encouraged him to make a bigger scene. Black arrested in fatal West Franklin Street fire - Three dead, eight injured in blaze   Evansville police arrested 31-year-old Christopher Compton late Monday evening in connection with the fatal fire that killed a toddler and two adults and injured eight others on West Franklin Street Monday. Compton is preliminarily charged with three counts of murder and four counts of arson with injury, both Class A felonies. He is currently lodged without bond at Vanderburgh County Jail. Dominique Xazier Lamberth, 23, of Creedmoor, has been charged with murder. Police say Lamberth was robbing a man of $20 on Feb. 26 when the victim jumped into a vehicle and drove away. Investigators say Lamberth fired at the car and struck Kourtney Krista Dawson outside a church. Black on probation is suspect in murder of 72-year-old White woman  BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - A Martinsburg man who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Martha Tyler, 72, was recently released from jail and was out on probation from Morgan County, W.Va., when the homicide occurred. William Patrick Jackson, 37, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with one felony count of first degree murder. Jackson was initially arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card, after it was discovered he had used the victim's bank card. He was incarcerated at the Eastern Regional Jail for a probation violation. He was released in February 2014. Tyler was found dead with a bag over her head and her hands tied behind her back by her daughter. The husband of the woman killed in the 2007 wreck is speaking out against the young mother who he claims tried to convince a judge that he was to blame for the deadly wreck. Doug Krane's wife, Jennifer Krane, had just given birth the couple's first child when they crossed paths with Ebony Wilkerson on a freeway near Fort Lauderdale in February of 2007. On the day of the deadly wreck, Wilkerson was going northbound on Interstate 95 when she switched lanes and slammed into the rear of a Nissan operated by Doug Krane, who was driving with his wife and infant son in the car. The impact sent Krane's car skidding across the road and into a concrete barrier. Jennifer Krane suffered critical injuries in the collision and died several days later. |

Gates Mills man charged in fatal South Euclid crash drove 85 miles per hour before striking tree  SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio— The Gates Mills man accused of driving high on marijuana at 85 mile per hour and crashing into a tree, killing his 16-year-old passenger, is being held in the city jail on $780,000 bond. Jerard A. Rood, 19, entered no plea Friday at his initial appearance in South Euclid Municipal Court, where he is charged with first-degree felony aggravated vehicular assault and two first-degree misdemeanor charges of phone harassment. Rood’s friend’s sister, 16-year-old Karly B. Ciuprinskas, a junior at Brush High School, died in the crash. Rood and Ciuprinskas’ 17-year-old sister suffered minor injuries in the crash. Attacked in her apartment by two blacks - White Denver Woman recounts terrifying ordeal Denver Police have issued a crime alert after two separate attacks just blocks apart within a week. According to the alert, the first crime happened around 8 p.m. on March 6. The woman, who didn't want to be identified, said she walked out of her apartment and saw two black men -- one had a knife -- at the bottom of the stairwell. "We made eye contact and they rushed up. By the time I got to the door, one of them already had their foot in the entrance door," the victim said. The victim said she dialed 911 as she fought to close her door. She knew she wasn't just fighting for her life, she was fighting for her unborn baby's too. "We were forcing the entrance door back and forth for a good ten seconds. They kept pushing the door back so I knew I wasn't going to hold it, so that's why I ran to the restroom," the victim said. The restroom was the only room in the apartment with a locking door. The woman said the men continued to bang on the door, trying to break it down. The door frame now has deep marks where they tried to pry the lock with their knife. "I could just hear them laughing. I just dropped the phone and I crawled up in a ball and I just was waiting. I was just freaking out, I was just screaming. All I could hear is banging on the door," she said. Denver Police said the second attack happened just six days later around 6 p.m., in the same area. In that incident, police said a black man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt kicked in the front door to an apartment. The male resident scared the suspect off. Jackson in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Dylan Andrew McKelvey. McKelvey, the grandson of Monster.com founder Andrew McKelvey, was Martin County's first homicide of 2014. His body was found in a field in Indiantown on March 5th. Detectives questioned Travyvon D. Jackson who also goes by the nickname "Lil Su Rabbit." Deputies say Jackson confessed to shooting and killing McKelvey during an argument on March 5th and leaving his body in Indiantown. Bond denied for black suspect in deadly McDonald’s bathroom attack on 74-year-old White man  The man accused of attacking a man in McDonald’s who later died was denied bond at his court appearance Thursday. Donald Thomas, 50, was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated battery and robbery in the Feb. 28 attack on Frederic Cooper inside the McDonald’s on Indian Trail Lilburn Road, according to Gwinnett County police. On Tuesday, 74-year-old Cooper died in the hospital. Police said Thursday charges against Thomas could be upgraded, depending on Cooper’s autopsy. Gwinnett County police say Thomas followed Cooper into the bathroom at the restaurant and tried to take Cooper’s wallet, but the older man resisted. Thomas allegedly attacked Cooper and the two struggled, police said. Cooper was knocked to the floor, sustained a cut to his face and fractured back, among other injuries. Police said Thomas took the wallet and fled the scene. “Somebody else may not have been injured as severely, but he is 74 years old and he was not physically prepared to be knocked down and attacked the way he was,” Cpl. Sarantis Monemvasitis, a server at Jimmy the Greek Taverna, recalled walking into Dimitrios Karaloukas’s restaurant in Boca Raton five years ago asking for a job. Karaloukas, known as “Jimmy,” gave him a job on the spot. Three months ago, Jimmy did the same for Tilus Lebrun, even though they didn’t have any openings. But authorities say Lebrun stabbed his boss several times Thursday night with what Monemvasitis called “the longest knife” in the kitchen. Lebrun, 42, faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. Karaloukas, 62, died from his injuries at Delray Medical Center less than an hour after the attack. Another unidentified employee in the kitchen was also stabbed and taken to the hospital but “is expected to pull through,” a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said. Lebrun, of Pompano Beach, told deputies he stabbed his boss in the restaurant because his boss took a photo of him and posted it on the Internet, according the arrest report. Black boyfriend, who called 911, charged in white Brandon woman’s death  TAMPA — A Valrico man, who called 911 on Tuesday to alert authorities after finding the body of a Brandon woman outside his house, has been charged with his apparent girlfriend’s death. Deputies charged Michael Jason Fields, 32, with second-degree murder early this morning in the death of Christina Mahzamani, 32, who died of bludgeoning to her head, an autopsy showed. Deputies say Fields alerted 911 around 2:20 p.m. to a body found at the side of the house where he was living, later identified as Mahzamani. After finding drag marks on the grass, and leaves leading from the back yard toward the middle of two houses, deputies say investigators discovered a cinder block with blood behind the home. Investigators also found an area of dirt with what appeared to be blood and a partial shoe print consistent with the sole of the shoes that Fields was wearing, deputies say. A search of Fields’ bedroom yielded a pair of pajama pants with blood on the front, deputies say. Fields told detectives he was Mahzamani’s boyfriend, and she came to visit him at the house on Sunday night around 11 p.m., staying a short time before she left. He said he had no further contact with her. Mahzamani, the mother of three children ages 3, 7 and 9, was last seen at around 10 p.m. Sunday at her home. Black 21-year-old driver to be charged with two counts of capital murder     AUSTIN – Rashad Charjuan Owens, 21, the driver in a deadly downtown wreck who police suspected of driving drunk, will be charged with two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle after the car plowed through a crowded street full of people waiting for a South by Southwest concert. A Central Texas woman riding on the back of a moped and a man from the Netherlands on a bicycle were killed when the car hit a crowd of people outside Mohawk. More than 20 others taken to the hospital. One of the victim’s was 35-year-old Steven Craenmehr. Two people remained in critical condition, and three others had serious injuries and were being treated at area hospitals. Police say Owens sped away from an officer after being stopped on suspicion of DWI a few blocks earlier. Owens almost hit a police officer with the car while trying to get away, according to police. He then went the wrong way on Ninth Street, plowed through a barricade on Red River Street, and hit the people in the crowd. “This is an individual that committed an intentional act,” Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said of the suspect. Owens then went through 10th and 11th streets before hitting a van. Javonte Higgins' guilty verdict comes as relief to family of murder victims David and Vivian Bouwman  GRAND RAPIDS, MI – After a year of waiting, it took a jury four hours to deliver the answer the Bouwman family has been waiting for: Javonte Higgins is guilty of murder. “Javonte Higgins is the lowest form of humanity we can have here on God’s green earth,” said Tom Kelly, son-in-law of murder victims David and Vivian Bouwman, the Kentwood couple shot to death at the ages of 81 and 80. Kelly spoke in the hallway of the downtown courthouse on Monday, March 10, moments after the verdict was delivered finding Higgins guilty of two counts of felony murder, home invasion and using a firearm during a felony. Last week, the Kent County Circuit Court jury listened to evidence and testimony regarding the brutal murders of Bouwmans, who were slain in their Princeton Estates home overnight on Jan. 5, 2013. White Father killed protecting stepdaughter during robbery by two black females   Two arrests have been made after deputies said a father and his stepdaughter were run off the road and robbed in what may have been a setup. Mobile County Sheriffs Deputies said they charged two women in the shooting death of Robert “Bobby” Perry and are still searching for an additional male suspect. “Something happened here that no law enforcement officer, no first responder ever wants to see,” said Chaplain Ron Pierce, who arrived on-scene to console the victim’s family. Officials said Perry was shot to death in front of his stepdaughter along Bayou Jonas Dr in Coden. The two were driving home from checking out a car they found on Craigslist. Deputies said the pair traveled to a business in Tillman’s Corner, cashed an income tax check, and checked out the vehicle for sale. Officials said, however, they decided not to purchase it from the seller. On their drive home, investigators say the pair noticed they were being followed by two women who were also seen checking out the Craigslist car earlier. Investigators say the women ran Perry and his step-daughter off the road and proceeded to rob them at gunpoint and shoot the father. “She is obviously shaken as well,” said Lt. Black Man Pleads Guilty To Murder Of White Man In Minneapolis Break-In   MINNEAPOLIS – A 25-year-old man has pleaded guilty to murder charges in the July 2011 shooting death of Shea Stremcha. Xavier Demia Walker pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder in Hennepin County Court Monday just before his trial was set to begin. Walker will be sentenced on March 26 and could get as much as 40 years in prison. The other two suspects in the case, Robert Shelby and Semaj Williams, are both expected to be sentenced to more than 35 years in prison. Stremcha and his fiancée were sleeping on the morning of July 20, 2011, when they woke up to the sound of glass breaking. Stremcha grabbed (a) knife and went to investigate. The three men confronted Stremcha, who was able to stab one of the suspects. Walker then shot Stremcha in the chest, and he died at the scene. According to the three suspects, they were planning to rob a drug dealer they knew that lived near Lake Street and 45th Avenue, but mistakenly broke into Stremcha’s house on the 2900 block of 45th Avenue. A Chicago bicyclist punched by a machete-wielding assailant was speaking out, after his narrow escape. CBS 2’s Chris Martinez reports the Humboldt Park man was just three blocks from his when he was hit. The victim asked CBS 2 to conceal his face. He’s still stunned by what happened over the weekend. He was riding home when he spotted two men approaching from an alley. Then he noticed one of them had a machete. “One of them hit the bike with the machete, in the back wheel, and that stopped me,” the bicyclist says. Pictures show the damage. There was a gash in the bike’s tire, followed by the victim’s question to the attacker: “I think I said, ‘Oh, my God, you have a machete. Is this a joke?’” His attackers’ next move proved it was not. “He got right in my face, but he just punched me in the face,” he said.
