  MARSHALL COUNTY – Two brothers are each being held on a $1 million bond for burglary and for the brutal assault of 91-year old Pat Crum near Holly Springs. Maquel Donyel Morris, 21, and his brother, 17-year old Dillon Dewayne Williams, have been charged with two counts of burglary and aggravated assault for the attack of an elderly woman three weeks ago. On Jan. 26, the victim in the assault went to the back door of her home and she opened the door slightly and Morris and Williams allegedly forced their way in and knocked the woman to the ground. “They basically ran over her and went in the house,” Dickerson said. “And the aggravated assault against the [victim] was so serious in nature that she had numerous facial bones that were broken.” Dickerson said Morris and Williams allegedly beat the woman in the face and head. “She was savagely beaten,” Dickerson said. “And it was a physical assault, no weapons, they used their hands. And they rendered severe blows to her head. And as she was attempting to call for help, they struck her again with another severe blow to the head.” - (Black-on-white)

In January 2010 Mrs. Pat Crum was in her home when 2 black individuals came to her door and proceeded to beat her up and leave her for dead.

Authorities learned a 91-year-old woman was beaten and robbed in her home near Mt. Pleasant in the mid-morning hours.

The two brothers had been charged with burglary and the aggravated assault of Pat Crum, who told the court she lay on the floor and played dead to survive after her initial assault. Crum, who lives near Mt. Pleasant, suffered a broken jaw and other facial bones, and bruises about the face and head, as well as trauma to the back of the head, according to authorities. Morris had done yard work for Crum. She said she heard the voices of two people going room to room, burglarizing her home. She said they forced their way through a back door she had cracked after a soft knock. Williams implicated his brother, Morris, in the crime when he pled guilty but was not cooperative.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect believed to be in Memphis, who is accused of beating a 91-year old woman. 17-year old Dillon Williams is in custody in connection with the aggravated assault of Pat Crum at her home in northwest Marshall County. The teen's brother, Maquel Morris, is believed to be an accomplice in the attack.
